In pre-history, the Red Tent or Moonlodge was a place where the women of a tribe or village would come together each month to BE in the Sacred Space of Woman Power. The Red Tent is a place to return to the Self, to share Woman Stories, to meditate, and to re-member our innate Wisdom. The Moon Lodge has a relationship to the Oracle - the Woman who delves into the depths of her unconscious Self to bring back information for the growth and good of her whole tribe.

Over recent years the Red Tent Movement has taken the World by storm! My friend thea Gaia, one of the very first Women's Sacred Circle Facilitators in Australia likens this phenomenon to spot fires, that are spark in little places, with little groups, and ignite the hearts of every Woman who gets involved. Before long those spot fires join with other little sparks, and, as we have seen in recent times, the intensity and excitement erupts : now Red Tent Movement is alive everywhere!

When women circle together we create a loving, supportive space to share and grow. We SEE the other women in the circle as equals and sisters, initiating ourselves into the deeper meaning of Women's Power, and the Sacred Self.

For many years I held space for group circles, exclusively for women.

Previous to using the name ‘Red Tent’ I had been holding Women’s only Spaces in other formats, including other Circles, Workshops, ‘Priestess Training’ and, my absolute favourite; We the Temple of the Moon, where we would present Journey Experiences for Women in relationship to the ‘Dark Goddess’.

I've facilitated menarche ceremonies, motherhood ceremonies, menopause letting go ceremonies… if it's about women, I've done it.

Women have experienced the Red Tent Space as Healing and transformative without the need to Do anything – just Being. My Circles always followed a general format, and didn’t deviate too far from the usual plan, although the content was different, due to the nature of the changes in the lunar story, and the energy on the Earth at the time.

Also, the Women made the Space their own – and so whoever was there in any given month helped in creating the energy – no two Circles have ever been the same.As my work shifts more and more for 1:1 (or big events) I've removed the many years of content, products and advice that used to live here on this site. Now, it all lives on the Self Crafted Life platform.  

What is Red Tent?

Red Tent is (neo)traditionally a group space for women to come away from everyday life, entering into a shared space of self care and unfolding.

In the Red Tent, we are welcomed without judgement, in whatever momentary state we're in. We let the cares of life drop away (or not if you prefer) and spend a few, uninterrupted hours in sistarhood.

The Red Tent is usually an incredibly nourishing, supportive, invigorating space.For over fifteen years I have facilitated women's spaces that replica the Red Tent. Some have been named the same, and others with all sorts of names.

Currently, I'm not holding group space, yet I wanted women to be able to share in the nourishment that Red Tents provide. Now everything that I've ever produced regarding content for the Red Tent can be found in the Red Tent Circle at the Self Crafted Life Platform. What is the importance of the Circle?

When women sit together in Circle, we acknowledge that we are all equal, although our journeys that have led us here may be very different.

It is a Sacred Space to relax and BE your authentic Self. The words spoken and the stories told are heard by each woman present, and the woman with the story is honoured for the part she plays in the co-creation of the Sacred Space. This is why we call it Secret Women's Business, for it is a place where women find nourishment and wholeness, inspiration and integrity, and honour passion and compassion.

I just wanted to write you a note to share a special something with you.

I know you have talked about how when we heal ourselves we not only pay it forward the generations but we heal back also. I have always been skeptical about it healing backwards. You know I am passionate about making changes in growing girls to women and this especially has been important for me with my relationship with my daughter.

I also would deeply love all women to feel the support and love of women’s circle to nourish and empower them. But often I feel like I am that odd family member or friend, and that’s why the community of women you have created through Red Tent has meant so much to me. Reassuring I am not alone and to help me travel further on my path. Anyway, I digress.

So I can see so many positives in my daughter from spending time in women’s space. Interestingly and the point of the message is how its changed my mum! She has always not enjoyed the company of women but this has been changing. She recently phoned me, and its like all the pieces have been falling into place for her and amazingly we were able to connect and talk on a level as never before. She was so appreciative of the path I had taken already, especially for the daughters of our family. So now I believe how doing this work can change and heal in all directions.
